Pico Duarte

Pico Duarte (3.175 m.), is the most high Caribbean mountain. It's located in Central Cordillera. Cold climate, woods and falls, create a typical alpine landscape. Mules and horse are very used means of transport by the zone inhabitants. In Costanza, on Pico Duarte side, it's frequent meet highlanders on mules loaded with bananas, that grow at this latitude. Low-density population, not much traffic-congested roads and wood houses make the zone fascinating and completely different compared to coastal zone rich in tourist settlings.

Constanza

Constanza town is located in the mountainous zone of Dominican Republic, in Cibao region. It's easy to reach from Duarte highway taking the diversion next Bonao. Constanza is located at 1.200 meters above sea level, and is called ''Caribbean Swiss'' because of temperate climate in the summer and cold in the winter (minimum of 5 degrees centigrade). The economy is based on agriculture (with cultivation of potatoes, garlic, strawberries and floriculture) and on tourism. We recommend to visit Salto de la Agua Blanca Falls.
