Why Boca de Yuma
Boca de Yuma bay receive Atlantic Ocean waters through Mona channel. Today is a small fishing village not so visited by tourism. There is'nt reef, but there are several small beaches, and a wider beach, beyond the navigable river, easy to reach in ten minutes by motor boat, and where it's possible to swim or to fish on tow. Boca de Yuma was an ancien shelter for the dens of pirates, often allieds with Tainos indios of Arawak origin, against the Spanish conquerors. At Boca de Yuma are visible seventeenth-century guns of Spanish coastal defences, front to open sea.
